The Publishing Process: An Overview with Literary Agent Jill Marr

You’ve finished your novel or completed your nonfiction proposal, so what do you do next? In this workshop we will discuss the process to publication, including how to go about getting an agent, doing the research, and writing a winning query letter for your project. We’ll also talk about the process of submitting to publishers once you have an agent and what happens after a contract is offered. And finally, we’ll prepare you for what will happen during the editorial process, heading toward publication and beyond.

Jill Marr is an agent at the Sandra Dijkstra Literary Agency. She graduated from San Diego State University with a BA in English with an emphasis in creative writing and a minor in history. She has a strong Internet and media background and nearly 15 years of publishing experience.
