MEDITATION AND YOGA FOR KIDS
Sunday, May 1 @ 11:00 am
212 NE 59th Terrace, Miami, FL 33137 United States
Kids can join Alexandra Jeanty-Leclerc, Mindful Art educator and author of Mindful Pokie, for a meaningful meditation and yoga session.
Alexandra has brought Mindful Kids Miami (MKM) to Little Haiti because she feels that it provides a set of tools all teachers everywhere should acquire. She has completed MTTP and MBSR classes with MKM a few years ago and has supported the organization as a volunteer. She implements mindfulness in her classrooms and has developed Mindful-Art classes in Little Haiti where all children who participate learn about living the now, being kind, and showing compassion to others. In her 16 years of teaching around the globe, she has worked with more than 600 children and families. Over the past 5 years in Miami, she has seen the significant difference in her classrooms with her innovations. Alexandra is a strong believer in community development and participates on several boards in various institutions. For two consecutive years, she has created a Mindful-Art show at FIU, implementing the Happiness Curriculum with Art, and raising awareness about mindfulness for the surrounding communities. She is a strong believer in pursuing well being for everyone, as she feels that “everyone deserves to be happy.” She holds a B.S. from Barry University in Miami, FL and a master’s degree in Waldorf Education from La Salle University, Spain, and is now pursuing her doctoral degree.
