There will be ART! Visit the KIDS ART-MAKING STUDIO all day for hands-on arts and craft activities with GO GO MOAD and renowned Haitian artist Asser Saint-Val.

Born in Port-de-Paix, Haiti, Asser Saint-Val is a South Florida-based multi-disciplinary artist, painter, sculptor, installation artist, graphic designer and musician. He has had several solo and group shows throughout South Florida, North Carolina, and Tennessee as well as in cities such as New York, Washington, DC, Fort Myers, Boca Raton. Internationally, Saint-Val has exhibited in Argentina and throughout the Caribbean including Haiti; Bahamas; Grenada; Aruba; Havana and Santiago de Cuba, Cuba; and Puerto Rico. In 2017, one of his installations was selected to represent Paris Perfume’s new cologne, Pour Un Homme CARON Sport during Miami Art Week. 

Saint-Val has received numerous awards, including the Consortium Award in 2006 and 2011 for mixed media paintings, an Artist Access Grant, and The Diaspora Vibe Cultural Incubator grant in 2017. He has participated in residencies at Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator (DVCAI), Jacmel, Haiti (Fosaje), Santiago de Cuba (Casa del Caribe & Taller Cultural “Luis Diaz Oduardo”), and in Jamaica, WI (Edna Manley College) and earned BFAs in painting and graphic design from the New World School of the Arts and University of Florida. Saint-Val’s work is represented in a number of private and public collections, including The Rubell Museum, Dr. Arturo & Liza Mosquera Collection, Miami-Dade Public Library, Francie Bishop Good, and Mireille Chancy-Gonzalez Collection, among others.
