Little Haiti Book Festival Online!

Over the past few weeks, we have been reimagining the ways in which we connect people to books and authors online. From author presentations, readings and discussions to online workshops. Miami Book Fair and its partners continue our shared mission to connect the literary community from home.

Announcing the Little Haiti Book Festival Online! Programmed in partnership with Sosyete Koukuy, as in years past, and in collaboration with Books & Books and Libreri Mapou, The Little Haiti Book Festival Online will feature authors from Haiti and the Haitian diaspora, panel discussions and performances, and storytelling and dance for children, too!

We are working on a schedule for various events that will take us through the last half of May, and all the way through June — we’ll celebrate Haitian Heritage Month, and Caribbean Heritage Month, too!

The Little Haiti Book Festival is part of Miami Book Fair’s ReadCaribbean programs, sponsored in part by the Green Family Foundation, Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and Florida Division of Cultural Affairs.

STORYTELLING: TIM-TIM BWA-CHÈCH IN HAITIAN FOLKLORE
Haiti has a long history of transmitting knowledge and human experience through the medium of oral tradition. Storytellers Pascale Millien-Faustin and Krystel Kanzki will discuss ways to preserve our cultural heritage. Moderated by Marleine Bastien. Special guest: Lucrece Louisdhon-Louinis.
