Community Partner Profile: Jack & Jill of America, South Miami Chapter Supports Books for Free in Bedtime Stories Under the Stars with Vizcaya Museum and Gardens

“This is the South Miami Chapter Jack and Jill’s first year hosting Bedtime Stories Under the Stars with Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. It was a perfect way to highlight the Black Grove Conversations series. These stories highlighted the contributions made by Black Bahamian settlers and their families in the shaping of Vizcaya and the Coconut Grove community. Our live programming showcased authors from diverse backgrounds engaging the children with stories. Meanwhile we celebrated the spirit of giving where families donated over 200 books to the Miami Book Fair. With this partnership focusing on community, history, and literacy, it’s our goal to reach as many children as possible throughout South Florida”

Thank you, Jack and Jill of America, the South Miami Chapter, especially many thanks to their President, Lisa H. Franklin, for their constant support of our program, recent book donations and inclusion in the wonderful evening of Bedtime Stories Under the Stars at Vizcaya Park. We are grateful for everything you do for Books For Free, from hosting book drives to donating books. We deeply appreciate your aid in our goal to bring more books to the hands of children who need them the most in our community.
