On behalf of the Executive Board of Sosyete Koukouy of Miami, Inc. and Mapou Cultural Center we would like to take this opportunity to invite you to the Little Haiti Book Festival kick off reception on the evening of Saturday, May 27 at 6:00 p.m. and to the Street Festival on Sunday, May 28 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. We hope you’ll consider sponsoring this wonderful event.
Sosyete Koukouy is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, founded in 1965, dedicated to the preservation, perpetuation and presentation of Haitian cultural performances and exhibitions to Creole and non-Creole speaking audiences wherever possible. Our mission is to work together to promote a healthy inclusive community environment in Miami Dade County, knowledgeable about the vibrant culture of Haiti and the Caribbean.
In addition to the Haitian community, we have extended an invitation to other French/Creole writers from the Caribbean living in Miami-Dade: St. Lucia, Guadeloupe, Dominica, Martinique, France, and Canada. This event is free of charge and open for all to attend. We have planned numerous activities that children and adults alike will treasure such as: meeting authors, storytelling, face painting, live music performances, delicious treats, and many artistic presentations. This will be an occasion to showcase your business in a pleasant and vibrant atmosphere. We would very much appreciate your financial or in-kind donation to help offset our costs and provide resources needed to offer these fun activities to our diverse Miami Dade County community.
Your donation will also help us recognize emerging authors, artists and leaders who have made significant contributions in promoting Haitian traditional culture with their talents throughout the world. We need your support to continue to empower our youth and our community; you can help us achieve this by making a financial contribution, reserving space, a tent or a table.
