(Engel, Patricia) Patricia Engel is the author of Vida, which was a New York Times Notable Book of the Year and a finalist for the PEN/Hemingway Fiction Award and Young Lions Fiction Award, and the acclaimed novel It’s Not Love, It’s Just Paris, winner of the International Latino Book Award. Her work has appeared in The Atlantic, Boston Review, A Public Space, Harvard Review, and Guernica, among other publications and anthologies, and received numerous awards including a 2014 fellowship in literature from the National Endowment for the Arts. De origen colombiano y nacida en Estados Unidos, es egresada de New York University en donde se licenció en francés e historia del arte, y de Florida International University, donde obtuvo su maestría en narrativa. Actualmente reside en Miami. Su libro de cuentos Vida (Alfaguara), que presenta este año en la feria, fue finalista del Premio Pen/Hemingway, destacado como Notable Book por The New York Times y, en 2017, ganador de la tercera edición del Premio Biblioteca de Narrativa Colombiana (PBNC). Engel es autora también de las novelas No es amor, es solo París, que recibió el Premio Latino Internacional, y de Las venas del mar. En Vida relata los días de una joven nacida en Estados Unidos, hija de inmigrantes colombianos, los cuales transcurren entre una sociedad que brilla solo como telón de fondo y ese otro país del que viene su familia, que le recuerda un origen cada vez más remoto e incierto.
