Margaret Papillon was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. She is married to the renowned painter Albert Desmangles and they have two children, Sidney-Albert and Coralie-Agnès. The publication of her first novel, La Marginale (1987), brought her unending success. In 1995, she left behind her career in physical training and fitness to entirely dedicate herself to writing. In 2005, the author moved to Florida where she continues to write. In 2010, she opened her own publishing company, Butterfly Publications.
