(DeFede, Jim) Jim DeFede is an Emmy Award-winning investigative reporter and host of CBS 4’s Sunday morning public affairs program Facing South Florida. He was born in Brooklyn and has worked for The Spokesman-Review in Spokane, Washington. He spent 11 years as a reporter and columnist at Miami New Times and was metro columnist for the Miami Herald, from 2002 to 2005. His Christopher Award-winning book, The Day The World Came To Town: 9/11 in Gander, Newfoundland, was published in 2002 by HarperCollins.
