EDWARD PAULINO is an associate professor in the Department of Global History at CUNY/John Jay College. He is the author of Dividing Hispaniola, co-editor of The Border of Lights Reader, and a co-founder of the Border of Lights collective. He wrote and performed his one-person show Eddie’s Perejil and wrote the script for the Ted Ed animation video series Ugly History. He is currently a co-editor for the Ruth Simms Hamilton African Diaspora Book Series (RSHAD) at Michigan State University.
