(LeFavour, Cree) Cree LeFavour is the author of several cookbooks, including the James Beard Award nominated Fish. She has also ghost written books and proposals for chefs and artists. Her work has appeared in the New York Times, the Times of London, Bon Appetit, O, the Oprah Magazine. LeFavour’s debut memoir, Lights On, Rats Out (Grove Atlantic), is the exploration of her early twenties when she, as a graduate student in psychology, habitually burned herself with cigarettes, then developed an intimate relationship with her psychiatrist. In her review, which appeared in New York Times Book Review, Daphne Merkin writes, “This is a courageous and unsettling memoir, infused with humor as well as pain, and marked throughout by a survivor’s wry insight.”
