He was the Senior Vice President/Executive Director of the Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences and the Features Editor of the Miami Herald. He has written for The New York Times, Condé Nast Traveler and Smithsonian Magazine, among others, and penned liner notes for Tito Puente, Los Van Van, Chico O’Farrill and Astor Piazzolla.
