Born in Corail, Haiti, Claude C. Pierre is a widely published poetry, nonfiction, and fiction writer who attended the Université du Québec à Hull (UQUAH ), the École Nationale des Hautes Études Internationales (UEH), the Université Laval (Quebec), and the Université d’Ottawa (Ontario). With a Master’s degree and a Doctorate degree in Literature and Linguistics, Pierre currently teaches at the State University of Haiti and serves as the technical director of Éditions Zémès, in Port-au-Prince. He’s published two fiction books in Creole: Simbi (Éditions Aryetos, 2003) and Lang pa gen zo (Éditions H. Deschamps, 2007).
