Cynthia Graubart’s children, and their absence, were the inspiration for The One-Armed Cook and Slow Cooking for Two books. She is also the co-author, with Nathalie Dupree, of Southern Biscuits and Mastering the Art of Southern Cooking, winner of a James Beard Award. Graubart was also a producers of Duprees early shows on PBS. In Chicken: a Savor the South® cookbook (Savor the South Cookbooks) (The University of North Carolina Press), Graubart celebrates the bird in all its glory, southern style and beyond. This little cookbook packs all the know-how that cooks need to make irresistible chicken dishes for everyday and special occasions, from shopping and selecting to cutting up, frying, braising, roasting, and much more.
