Born in Port-au-Prince and educated in France, Yanick Lahens is a writer and teacher who has taught at the University of Haiti and served in the office of the Minister of Culture. A founding member of the Haitian Writers Association, she’s a contributor to the literary magazines Chemins critiquesCultura, and Boutures. Her first novel, Dans la maison du père, was published in 2000. In 2014, she received the prestigious “Prix Femina” for her fourth novel, Bain de lune. Lahens plays an active role in the cultural development of Haiti.
