Writing the Unanswerable: Poets on the Body’s Journey

(Clark, C.M.) C.M. Clark’s poetry has appeared nationally in a variety of publications, including Metonym Literary Journal, The Lindenwood Review, Dogwood: A Journal of Poetry & Prose, Painted Bride Quarterly, the South Florida Poetry Journal and Gulf Stream magazine.  She was runner-up for the 2016 Elyse Wolf Prize/Slate Roof Press Chapbook Competition, and her recent full-length collection, Dragonfly, was released in 2016. Her latest collection is The Five Snouts (Finishing Line Press). (Prescott, Catherine Esposito) Catherine Esposito Prescott is the author of the chapbook The Living Ruin. She earned an MFA in Creative Writing from New York University, and her poems have appeared in several literary journals and anthologies, including Bellevue Literary Review, MiPOesias, Pleiades, Poetry East, Rattle, Spoon River Poetry Review, Southern Poetry Review, The Orison Anthology (Vol. 1, 2016), Tigertail: A South Florida Poetry Annual, and 99 Poems for the 99 Percent.  Catherine is cofounder and co-curator of the SWWIM Reading Series based in Miami Beach, Florida. Her latest collection of poetry, Maria Sings (dancing girl press) tells the story of a woman named Maria, who is diagnosed with cancer. Maria is surrounded by a group of friends, a chorus, many of whom are named Maria. Maria becomes a symbol, a figure encapsulating the experiences of all women. A short examination about what being a woman in today's society, about the  feminine, about disease and healing, about serendipity and hope, Maria Sings is a celebration of womanhood, about a woman's determination to heal, and about her finding her voice.

(Goblen, Rudi) Rudi Goblen is a writer, dancer, actor, and music producer. Goblen is also known as an acclaimed B-Boy. Alongside his award winning crew Flipside Kings, he has toured internationally, competing, adjudicating, and teaching since 1994. He is a recipient of the Future Aesthetics Artist Re-grant (FAAR) funded by the Ford Foundation in conjunction with the Future Aesthetics Cohort, and the Miami-Dade County's Choreographers Fellowship. Goblen has released 4 instrumental albums and is currently the Assistant Director/Spoken Word coach for Piano Slam, a poetry writing competition that asks students to compose works of poetry inspired by their reactions to a selection of music. Goblen’s book A Bag of Halos and Horns is combines poetry/short stories/artwork.

(Klahr, Sophie) Sophie Klahr is the author of the chapbook  _____ Versus Recovery. Her work appears in American Poetry Review, Ploughshares, Four Way Review, Harvard Review, The New Yorker, and elsewhere. She has been on the editorial staff of Gigantic Sequins since 2009, where she currently co-edits Teen Sequins. Her interdisciplinary work includes dance, drama, and sculpture. Klahr’s debut poetry collection Meet Me Here At Dawn (YesYes Books) contains eroticism tinged with elegy, gratitude knit with doubt. With lyric energy and narrative determination, the poems are missives sent back from a threshold, chronicling disease, the unspoken pains of family, the fabric of an extra-marital affair.
