Rey Rodriguez
Born in Santiago de Cuba, Rey Rodríguez is a singer, guitarist, and songwriter who fuses the roots of his homeland with the soul of rock ’n’ roll, the grit of blues, and the nostalgia of classic country. His music travels a sonic road between Havana, Memphis, Tennessee, and New Orleans, driven by heartfelt lyrics and a powerful, visceral stage presence. His debut solo album, now streaming, captures this fusion with raw authenticity and a bold artistic identity. His voice – full of truth – tells stories of love, exile, passion, and redemption. And his music has also made an impact on screen: His video “El Raccoon,” directed by Greth Castillo, won Best Music Video at the FilmGate Miami Festival. He recently reunited with Castillo to create a new visual for his single “Que Bolaaa,” which is now available on YouTube.
