Join us for a talk with Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Mirta Ojito, a Cuban-born author and journalist. She has written two nonfiction books, Finding Mañana: A Memoir of a Cuban Exodus, a book about her journey to the U.S. as a teenager in the Mariel boatlift, and Hunting Season: Immigration and Murder in an All-American Town, the true story of an immigrant’s murder that turned a quaint village on the Long Island shore into ground zero in the war on immigration.

Part of The FLYi Fest Local Ideas Festival, whose vision is to ease the transition of new arrivals into the local community and empower them to succeed, with the mission of establishing a link between newly arrived immigrants and local organizations of aid in order to provide inspiration and concrete connections as they transition into their new home.
