She has gone on to publish 5 more books in the Canticos Series. “As a Latina mom exposed to songs and traditions from both the US and my native Venezuela, I’ve had a hard time finding books and apps of the nursery rhymes I grew up with,” says Brooklyn-based author-artist Susie Jaramillo. “In talking to people in both Latino and non-Latino communities, I realized this was missing from bookshelves and digital platforms everywhere.” To bring to life all the things she loved about her Latino culture, she created Canticos so kids of all ages can enjoy these nursery rhymes and songs. "In addition to promoting bilingual/multilingual learning,” she adds, "we hope the books, apps and videos also promote a sense of community and connect kids, especially Latino kids, to their culture.” Other Language English Occurrence Annual Venue Name: Wembly’s Author Tent (Upper plaza of Children’s Alley) Location: 300 NE Second Ave., Miami, FL 33132 United States + Google Map
