NATIONAL BOOK FOUNDATION PRESENTS: CELEBRATING THE 2025 NATIONAL BOOK AWARD HONOREES FOR FICTION – FICTION

ANGELA FLOURNOY is the author of The Turner House: A Novel, which was a finalist for the National Book Award and the Center for Fiction First Novel Prize; a Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers selection; an Indie Next pick; and a New York Times Notable Book of the Year. Her fiction has appeared in The Paris Review, and she has written for The New York Times, The New Yorker, the Los Angeles Times, and elsewhere. A graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, she has taught at the University of Iowa, Princeton University, and the University of California, Los Angeles. She lives in New York.

SUSAN CHOI's latest book is Flashlight: A Novel (Farrar, Straus and Giroux), which is currently longlisted for the National Book Award for Fiction and the Booker Prize. She is also the author of Trust Exercise: A Novel, which received the National Book Award for Fiction, and The Foreign Student: A Novel, American Woman: A Novel, A Person of Interest: A Novel, and My Education: A Novel. She is a recipient of the Asian American Literary Award for fiction, the PEN/W. G. Sebald Award, a Lambda Literary award, the Sunday Times Audible Short Story Award, and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Guggenheim Foundation. She teaches in the writing seminars at Johns Hopkins University and lives in Brooklyn, New York.
