Psychiatrist DR. JEFFREY A. LIEBERMAN's groundbreaking research has pioneered a transformative strategy for the early detection and prevention of schizophrenia. World-renowned, he has contributed to federal legislation to improve mental health care access and quality while reducing the stigma associated with mental illness. Lieberman is also the author of Shrinks: The Untold Story of Psychiatry, which became the basis for the four-part PBS series Mysteries of Mental Illness. A member of the National Academy of Medicine and recipient of the Lieber Prize for Schizophrenia Research, the APA's Adolf Meyer Award, and NAMI Scientific Research Award, Lieberman served as American Psychiatric Association (APA) president in 2013 and 2014.

ELIZABETH BENEDICT is a novelist, journalist, editor, educator, and writing coach. She has published five acclaimed novels, including Almost, a national bestseller, and Slow Dancing, a National Book Award finalist. She also authored the classic book on writing about sex in fiction, The Joy of Writing Sex, which has been in print for 25 years. Benedict has written reviews and articles for The New York Times, The Boston Globe, Esquire, Real Simple, and Daedalus. She has also regularly contributed to Japanese Playboy, HuffPost, and Salmagundi. She conceived of and edited three prominent anthologies, including What My Mother Gave Me: 31 Women on the Gifts That Mattered Most, a New York Times bestseller; Mentors, Muses & Monsters: 30 Writers on the People Who Changed Their Lives; and Me, My Hair, and I: 27 Women Untangle an Obsession. Benedict is a member of the fiction faculty at the New York State Summer Writers Institute.

JOHN HENDRICKSON is a staff writer at The Atlantic. He previously wrote and edited for Rolling Stone, Esquire, and The Denver Post. His 2019 Atlantic feature “What Joe Biden Can’t Bring Himself to Say,” about the president's decadeslong journey with stuttering as well as his own, went viral and became the basis for his reported memoir Life on Delay: Making Peace With a Stutter (Knopf).

SANDEEP JAUHAR is the author of several books on medical topics: Intern: A Doctor's Initiation; Doctored: The Disillusionment of an American Physician, which was a New York Times bestseller; and Heart: A History, which was named best book of 2018 by The Mail on Sunday and Science Friday, and which was also a finalist for the 2019 Wellcome Book Prize. A practicing physician, Jauhar writes regularly for the opinion section of The New York Times.
