Lip Service, Miami’s longest running live storytelling show, kicks off its 14th season on Saturday, May 16 at the Koubek Center in the heart of Little Havana, Miami.
About LIP SERVICE: Lip Service solicits true personal stories from the community. Anyone can submit a story (see submission information below). From those submissions, Lip Service selects 8 stories. Lip Service producers work with the selected authors to edit and rehearse their stories, which are presented before a live audience. Part literary event and part theater, Lip Service shows are funny, sad, shocking, and always memorable.
About THE KOUBEK CENTER: The Koubek Center, a historic landmark in South Florida, celebrates our community with workshops, art exhibitions, theater performances, literary readings, concerts and more. The iconic space includes glorious gardens, the Koubek theater, the ArtSpace, classrooms, and mini performance spaces. The Koubek Center aims to serve as Miami’s multidisciplinary home for culture by offering classes, conferences and seminars, literary arts, and performances. Through community partnerships and activities, the Koubek Center highlights South Florida’s cultural expressions, while encouraging dialogue surrounding its culture and traditions.
About SUBMITTING STORIES TO LIP SERVICE: The deadline to submit a story for the May 16 show is Midnight, Sunday, April 19. Stories must be true, personal, and 1200 words or less. For submission tips and guidelines, visit www.lipservicestories.com
