JONATHAN CAPEHART ON YET HERE I AM – NONFICTION

Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist JONATHAN CAPEHART is a co-host of The Weekend on MSNBC. From 2020 until 2025, he was the anchor of The Saturday Show and The Sunday Show. He is also an analyst on  PBS NewsHour. Capehart is a former associate editor at The Washington Post, where he was an opinion writer for 18 years. He was also the deputy editorial page editor of the New York Daily News from 2002 to 2004 and served on its editorial board from 1993 to 2000, during which time the  board won the 1999 Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Writing for its campaign to save the Apollo Theater.

RUSSELL MOTLEY is an award-winning journalist and communications professor at Florida Memorial University. A former television news anchor with extensive broadcast experience, he brings decades of storytelling expertise to his role as an educator and media professional. As editor-in-chief emeritus of M·I·A Media Group, he has developed content strategies and guided editorial teams throughout South Florida. His leadership in the South Florida chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists reflects his commitment to advancing journalism and mentoring emerging media professionals. He holds a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Miami and a master's degree in communication from Florida A&M University. His unique perspective bridges the worlds of professional journalism and academia, making him an insightful moderator for conversations about media, communication, and the written word.
