Jennifer L. Holm is the author of three Newbery Honor books: Our Only May Amelia, Penny from Heaven, and Turtle in Paradise, a tale inspired by her family stories, including those of Holm’s great-grandmother, who emigrated from the Bahamas to Key West in 1897.
