With simultaneous English translation.

Wendy Guerra’s Everyone Leaves: A Novel follows Nieve in 1978 Cuba as she turns to her diary – her only constant in a life of loss, abuse, and turmoil. Torn from her mother, thrust into her abusive father’s home, and inducted as a “revolutionary Pioneer,” she records the harsh truths of growing up in Fidel Castro’s Cuba, revealing the revolution’s betrayal of women. Joining Guerra in conversation is journalist and author Mirta Ojito, Deeper than the Ocean: A Novel.
