Award-winning radio producer Sonja D. Williams draws on archives and hard-to-access family records to tell the story of the black radio dramatist who paved the way for a generation of activists, in Word Warrior: Richard Durham, Radio, and Freedom. In Dean Dixon: Negro at Home, Maestro Abroad, conductor and scholar Rufus Jones, Jr. brings to light unpublished primary sources to tell the compelling story of this great American conductor. The injustices of Jim Crow America are brought to life in Linda Hervieux‘s Forgotten: The Untold Story of D-Day’s Black Heroes, at Home and at War, a tribute to the valor of an all-black battalion in WWII.
