Keynote Speaker: Anthony Abraham Jack author of The Privileged Poor: How Elite Colleges Are Failing Disadvantaged Students

African American Read In is a once yearly event held at MDC’s North Campus that brings to the community an African American author of note. Celebrated during Black History Month, the keynote speaker addresses an audience of over 500 high school and college students as well as local dignitaries. This year’s speaker is Dr. Anthony Abraham Jack, Assistant Professor of Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Copies of his new book The Privileged Poor: How Elite Colleges Are Failing Disadvantaged Students are purchased by Miami Book Fair to give free to students.
