Previously awarded scholarships to attend The Frost Place Conference on Poetry, Matheson has poems published in Four Way Review, The Adroit Journal, Pigeon Pages, Solar, Image, Honey Literary, Best New Poets, Hobart, and elsewhere. She currently works as publicist and editor at Four Way Books.

Philippe Mathieu is an agronomist, CEO of Agroconsult Haiti, and a vice chancellor of research at the Université d’État d'Haïti in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

Ben Mattlin is a journalist, essayist, and author. Born with spinal muscular atrophy, a congenital muscle weakness, he is a lifelong wheelchair user. Arsimmer McCoy is a Miami Gardens, Florida-based storyteller, collaborative artist, educator, and cultural worker. McCoy produces work in the form of poetry, short story literature, creative writing, performance, educational workshops, and creative direction. She has performed around the world, alongside artists of multiple disciplines and considers it her obligation to bring back the knowledge and stories to her students in South Florida.

Elizabeth McCracken is the author of eight books, including The Souvenir Museum (longlisted for the National Book Award), Bowlaway, Thunderstruck & Other Stories (winner of the 2014 Story Prize and longlisted for the National Book Award), and The Giant’s House (National Book Award finalist). McCrary Sullivan is an AIRIE (Artist in Residence in Everglades) Fellow, a Florida Master Naturalist, a wilderness paddler, a Fulbright Scholar, professor emerita of National Louis University, and a graduate of the Warren Wilson MFA Program for Writers. Her newest book is Learning Calabar: Notes from a Poet’s Year in Nigeria. In The Everglades: Stories of Grit and Spirit from the Mangrove Wilderness, we hear 21 tales from people who have ventured into it – for scientific work, search-and-rescue missions, artistic work, personal renewal, or just for adventure. We find stories of manatee rescue, shark encounters, and wild beauty.

Megan McDowell has translated books written by many contemporary South American and Spanish authors; her translations have been published in The New Yorker, Harper’s Magazine, The Paris Review, McSweeney’s, Words Without Borders, and Vice, among other publications. Samanta Schweblin’s Seven Empty Houses (Riverhead Books) – another of the works translated by McDowell – is a collection of stories about seven strange houses. A person is missing, or a truth, or a memory; some rooms are enticing, some unmoored, others empty. But something always creeps back inside: a ghost, a fight, trespassers, a list of things to do before you die. In each story, twists and turns unnerve and surprise.

Campbell McGrath is the author of 11 books of poetry, most recently Nouns & Verbs: New and Selected Poems and XX: Poems for the Twentieth Century, a finalist for the 2017 Pulitzer Prize. His work has appeared in scores of literary journals and anthologies, as well as The New Yorker, The Atlantic, Harper’s, and The New York Times. McGrath’s writing has been recognized with some of the most prestigious awards in American letters and by a MacArthur Foundation “Genius Award.” He teaches in the MFA program at Florida International University.

James Meader is vice president and associate publisher of Vintage Backlist, working with the estates of many legendary authors, as well as with the teams overseeing Vintage Classics, Vintage Shorts, Everyman’s Library, and media tie-ins. Before joining the Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group in 2019, he worked for 17 years at Picador, first in publicity and eventually as the imprint’s associate publisher, also acquiring and editing a number of books. Since beginning his publishing career in 2002, he has had the good fortune of working with a vast number of remarkable authors. A native of Maine, he studied comparative literature and Chinese at Middlebury College. He now lives in New Jersey with his wife and son.

Jasminne Mendez is a Dominican American poet, translator, playwright and award-winning author of several books for children and adults. Es maestra del ciclo primario desde hace muchos años y trabajó como autora de módulos de aprendizaje en la Reforma Educativa Boliviana. Ha sido consultora del departamento de Literatura Infanto-Juvenil de la Editorial Santillana (Bolivia) y de la Editorial Gente Común, y editora de varios textos para primaria. Ha escrito artículos y realizado investigaciones sobre literatura infantil, lo que la ha llevado a participar en congresos dentro y fuera de Bolivia. Celeste Mohammed is a Trinidadian lawyer-turned-writer. She holds an MFA in creative writing from Lesley University. Pleasantview (Ig Publishing) is her novel-in-stories debut. Coconut trees. Carnival. Rum and Coke. To outsiders, these idyllic images represent the so-called easy life in Caribbean nations such as Trinidad and Tobago. For those who live there, the reality is far different, and Mohammed reveals a society where poverty and patriarchy savagely rule – and love and revenge often go hand in hand. It’s the dark side of the Caribbean dream. Writing in a combination of English and Trinidad Creole, she sets the stories in a fictional town in Trinidad. We meet a political candidate who sets out to slaughter endangered turtles for fun, while his rival candidate beats his “outside woman” so severely that she loses their baby. On the night of a political rally, the abused woman exacts very public revenge, the trajectory of which echoes through Pleasantview, ending with one boy introducing another boy to a gun, and an ideology that will help him aim the weapon.

Carlos Alberto Montaner (La Habana, Cuba, 1943) Novelista, periodista, ensayista y profesor universitario. Vive entre Miami y Madrid. Estudió Literatura en la Universidad de Miami. Es colaborador y columnista de decenas de diarios de América Latina, España y Estados Unidos (se calcula en seis millones los lectores que tienen acceso semanalmente a sus artículos en español, inglés y portugués). Montaner ha publicado una veintena de libros. Varios han sido traducidos al inglés, al portugués, al ruso y al italiano. Entre los más conocidos y reeditados están Viaje al corazón de Cuba (1999), Las raíces torcidas de América Latina (2001), Los cubanos. Historia de Cuba en una lección (2006) y El presidente (2017), y las novelas Perromundo (1972), 1898: La Trama (1987), La mujer del coronel (2011) y Tiempo de canallas (2014).
