(Fertig, Mark) Film scholar and blogger Mark Fertig serves as chair of art and art history at a national liberal arts college in Pennsylvania. He writes regularly about comics, pop culture history, design, and movie posters for a variety of websites, including The Comics Journal, as well as the Film Noir Foundation’s magazine, Noir City. He’s also the author of Film Noir 101—The 101 Best Film Noir Posters of the 1940s and 1950s, and a pair of award-winning classic film blogs. Take That, Adolf! (Fantagraphics) is a compilation of more than 500 stunningly restored comics covers published during World War II featuring America’s greatest super-villain curated by Fertig, who also contributes an introductory essay examining comics’ coming-of-age amidst the greatest cataclysm in modern history.
