Myra E. Rose earned B.S. degrees in Chemistry and Biology at Swarthmore College and an M.D. from Tufts University School of Medicine. Postgraduate training included internal medicine residency at Washington Hospital Center and fellowship training in hematology and oncology at Emory University. She entered private practice for a few years but eventually joined the Department of Medicine at Morehouse School of Medicine as a member of the clinical faculty. Following a series of teaching and leadership assignments at Morehouse she became department chair and has served as program director for the residency program, hospice medical director, and chief of medical oncology.
