Leo Schofield

LEO SCHOFIELD spent 36 years in prison, convicted in 1989 of the murder of his wife, Michelle. He had exhausted all appeals, and his chances for parole were rejected four times because he refused to apologize for a crime he insisted he did not commit. In 2024, he was finally released on parole, largely due to the podcast Bone Valley, which laid out in exhaustive detail that Schofield was innocent of Michelle’s murder and that the crime was committed by a neighbor, Jeremy Scott, who was forensically linked to the scene. Today, Schofield is rebuilding his life after more than three decades behind bars, while continuing the fight for his complete exoneration.
