Free Add to Schedule + Google Calendar+ Add to iCalendar Details Date: Sunday, November 20, 2016 Time: 8:00 am Cost: Free Event Category: Ages 14+ Authors M-E Girard M-E Girard lives just outside Toronto, Canada, where she splits her time between writing YA fiction about badass teen girls and working nights as a pediatric nurse. A 2013 and 2015 Lambda Literary Fellow, M-E is a proud feminist who is endlessly fascinated by the good, the bad, and the ugly regarding the concept of gender. In her YA novel Girl Mans Up (HarperCollins), Pen wants is to be the kind of girl she’s always been. So why does everyone have a problem with it? Old-world parents, disintegrating friendships, and strong feelings for other girls drive Pen to see the truth—that in order to be who she truly wants to be, she’ll have to man up. In its starred review, School Library Journal writes, “There is no sugarcoating in this very real portrayal of an aspect of teen life that many experience.” Molly Booth Molly Booth grew up homeschooled in Massachusetts with her four boisterous siblings. She stage managed for three different community theatres in high school. Her first college was Bunker Hill Community College in Charlestown, Massachusetts; she then went on to study writing, literature, and Elizabethan history at Marlboro College in Vermont. There, she wrote the first drafts of Saving Hamlet, her debut novel, from Disney Hyperion. Her second book, Nothing Happened, will be coming spring 2018. In Saving Hamlet, just as everything starts to go haywire with the drama club’s production of Hamlet, Emma Allen falls through the stage’s trap door and emerges at the Globe Theater’s original production of the play—complete with William Shakespeare! Can Emma save two disastrous productions? Other Language English Occurrence Annual RSVP Please fill in the RSVP quantity, confirmation name, and email fields.
