Liniers Ricardo Siri

(Liniers) Liniers (Ricardo Siri) is from Buenos Aires, Argentina, but he now lives in Vermont as the artist-in-residence at the Center for Cartoon Studies with his wife and three young daughters. For more than twelve years, he has published a hugely popular daily strip, Macanudo, in the Argentine newspaper La Nación. He also tours the world drawing on stage with musician Kevin Johansen. His work has been published in nine countries from Brazil to the Czech Republic. Liniers’s U.S. debut, The Big Wet Balloon, was selected as one of Parents Magazine’s top ten and his follow up, Written and Drawn by Henrietta, was named one of School Library Journal’s Best Books of the Year. Good Night, Planet: Toon (TOON Books) tender, gorgeous tale by the internationally renowned cartoonist Liniers will reveal to early readers the wonders that exist at night, in secret, after they close their eyes. Liniers (Ricardo Siri) es el segundo nombre de Ricardo Siri, nacido en Buenos Aires el 15 de noviembre de 1973. Empezó haciendo fanzines y desde el 2001 publica su tira Macanudo en el diario La Nación. Tiene publicados máás de 20 libros donde se recopilaron sus más de 3600 historietas (Macanudo 1 al 10), además de 2 libros para chicos (Lo que hay antes que haya algo y Mamarracho) y uno sobre sus cuadernos de bocetos (Cuadernos). Muchos de estos libros están publicados en España, Estados Unidos, Brasil, Perú, Canadá, Italia, Francia, Rep. Checa, entre otros. En 2011 fundó la Editorial Común, dedicada a publicar novelas gráficas de diferentes escritores y dibujantes, tantos nacionales e internacionales. Hoy ya suma más de 20 libros editados. En 2013 su libro The Big wet balloon fue seleccionado por "The Parents Magazine" como mejor libro para chicos del 2013. Macanudo 4, editado en Francia, fue seleccionado ese mismo año por el Festival de Angouleme. En Marzo de 2014 Liniers ilustró la portada de la prestigiosa revista The New Yorker.
