Phra-se-o-lo-gy DIY Bookmarks

Design and create your own bookmark inspired by words and phrases! Using magazine cutouts, construction paper, and metallic pens, artists will express themselves through the art-making process using all the supplies at their fingertips. For a finishing touch, we’ll add beads and a tassel to our bookmarks to make sure we never lose our spot in our favorite book.

This program is inspired by the book The Art of Words by Robert Vescio and by the exhibition Phraseology, on long-term view at The Bass. In Phraseology, artists merge form and idea by creating works that contain text, familiar phrases, and poetry.
