Manuscript Consultations with Literary Agent Jill Marr

Via e-mail, forward a 10-page sample of your manuscript (preferably the first 10 pages) as a Microsoft Word attachment to Christine Ferreras at cferrer2@mdc.edu. In order to give your consultant time to review your work, submissions must be received NO LATER THAN 5 p.m. on April 7.

Jill Marr is an agent at the Sandra Dijkstra Literary Agency. She graduated from San Diego State University with a BA in English with an emphasis in creative writing and a minor in history. She has a strong Internet and media background and nearly 15 years of publishing experience.

Jill is interested in commercial fiction, with an emphasis on mysteries, thrillers, romantic suspense and horror, women’s commercial fiction and historical fiction. She is also looking for nonfiction by authors who are getting their work published regularly and who have a realistic sense of the market and their audience. Jill is looking for nonfiction projects in the areas of history, narrative nonfiction, sports, politics, current events, health & nutrition, pop culture, humor, music, and very select memoir.

Please note that Jill is specifically not interested in: YA, children’s books, sci-fi, romance, screenplays, graphic novels, or anything involving unicorns.

*Manuscript consultation fees are not reading fees and do not go to the agent; rather, they support the programs and initiatives of Miami Book  Fair.
