Fabienne Josaphat is the author of Dancing in the Baron’s Shadow, a debut novel released with Unnamed Press. Her essay, “Summer is an Empty House,” recently made the Notable Essays mentions in Best American Essays 2016. Her work was recently featured in TeenVogue Magazine, as well as in Eight Miami Poets, a Jai-Alai Books poetry anthology. She lives in South Florida. Frantz-Alix Lubin, ancien élève des Frères de l’Instruction Chrétienne (FIC), est titulaire d’une Licence en Anthropologie de l’Université d’Etat d’Haïti et d’un Baccalauréat en Agronomie tropicale de l’American University in Les Cayes. Il a  été, l’espace d’un cillement, étudiant en Architecture à l’Université G.O.C de Port-au-Prince. Frantz A. Lubin a également étudié la Communication de masse et a réalisé son stage sur les plateaux de la Télévision d’Etat, à Port-au-Prince. Frantz A. Lubin a publié de nombreux articles à caractère sociologique et anthropologique dans les colonnes du plus ancien quotidien d’Haïti, Le Nouvelliste. Il a travaillé à titre de consultant pour quelques organismes et ministères sectoriels du Gouvernement de la République. Pour le compte du National Democratic Institute (NDI), il a produit le rapport socio-économique de référence sur la faisabilité de l’aéroport international dans le Sud, en Haïti. Monsieur Lubin enseigne à l’Université d’Etat d’Haïti et a été brièvement Directeur général de la Mairie des Cayes. Autour de son essai anthropologique, Le processus de zombification en Haïti, Frantz Alix Lubin a prononcé de nombreuses conférences dans son pays natal, en France et en Belgique. Frantz-Alix Lubin is a Frères de l’Instruction Chrétienne (FIC) alumnus. Her’s earned a Bachelor’s degree in  Anthropology from the State University of Haiti and a Bachelor’s degree in Tropical Agronomy from the American University in Les Cayes. He was, briefly, an Architecture student at Université G.O.C in Port-au-Prince. Frantz A. Lubin also studied Mass Communication and did his internship at the State Television station, in Port-au-Prince. Frantz A. Lubin has published numerous sociological and anthropological articles in the oldest daily newspaper in Haiti, Le Nouvelliste. He has worked as a consultant for the Haitian Government and for other agencies. On behalf of the National Democratic Institute (NDI), he produced a feasibility study for an international airport in the South of Haiti. Mr. Lubin teaches at the State University of Haiti. He’s the former General Director of the Cayes City Hall. The author of an anthropological essay, Le processus de zombification en Haïti, Frantz Alix Lubin has given many conferences in his home country, in France and in Belgium.

(Fils-Aimé, Jean) Jean Fils-Aimé holds a Master’s Degree from McGill University in Medieval History and a Ph.D. in Theology from the University of Montreal. His specialty is the interaction of faith and culture. His dissertation was on the Protestant Reformation and the Catholic Counter-Reformation during the 21st century. Fils-Aimé advocates for the importance of Voodoo in Haitian culture. He has made Voodoo a weapon of opposition, a therapy for the people, and maintains that Voodoo is a religion advocating love and charity. His book, Vodou, je me souviens, is a genuine plea for Haitian culture and identity, as well as the gateway to new theological and ethnological debates. Dr. Jerry M. Gilles is the author of Remembrance: Roots, Ritual, and Reverence in Vodou (Bookmanlit, 2009). Gilles' formal training is in medicine. His great- grandfather was a traditional Haitian healer, who treated with herbs what Dr. Gilles now treats with pharmaceutical products often derived from those same herbs. Vodou is fascinating to Dr. Gilles because it is a repository of the knowledge, culture, and beliefs brought to Haiti from Africa. Dr. Gilles is an associate professor who has published in numerous peer review journals including the New England Journal of Medicine. He is a graduate of Columbia University and SUNY at Stonybrook.
