DAVID UNGER was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala, in 1950. His family migrated to Florida when he was 4 years old, due to the political situation in their home country. Unger has published five novels, four in Spanish and English: Life in the Damn Tropics (2002)/Vivir en el maldito trópico (2004), Ni chicha, ni limonada (2009), Para mí, eres divina (2011)/In my Eyes, You are Beautiful (2023), The Price of Escape (2011)/El precio de la fuga (2013), and El manipulador (2015)/The Mastermind (2016), which has been translated into 10 languages. His children’s books are La Casita (2011), Sleeping with the Light On (2020), Moley Mole/Topo Pecoso (2021), and José Feeds the World (2024).
