Here are the stories of two wealthy and complex families told by the grand parents to their granddaughter who keeps them in her memory and now as an adult, tells them. The author, with an imaginary and lyrical style, delights us with adventures, tragedies, thefts, infidelities, regrets, compassion, forgiveness and faith. The book transports us to Guatemala of the 1800's, a prosperous, intellectual, and culturally rich country. Some stories occurred more than 150 years ago, others more recently, yet all could be stories of today.

"Eli Rose and his partner, Vicente Amarón battle spies, gun runners, and narco-traffickers in 1960's-1980's Miami and the Caribbean. No Vacancy, The Next Best Man, and Morgan 41 transport the reader into the times with tales of greed, deception, and betrayal that lay behind the headlines and news reports of the day." ForeWord Clarion calls No Vacancy …"a story that feels authentic, with characters that feel real….a solid, enjoyable, and fun read."
Shirley Lyons, The White Heart •
D
In 1967 a singular event changed the course of Shirley's life. An apparition appeared to her in the portrait of a man. It said to her "Don't be afraid the agony of your life is over." Shirley spent four years looking for that man and found a portrait of him in an Ashram in India. He was a great spiritual leader. This book is her account of finding him, because in finding him she found herself.

P.A. Zimmerman, Olivia’s Magic Conch
•
D
Tossing fact with fantasy creates a different slant in this fable by capturing the attention of all ages. Olivia's Magic Conch sheds light on a serious problem; over 60,000,000lbs of trash is removed from beaches yearly, most not before the damage is done. Birds, fish, plants and humans alike are affected. The integrity of our sea is compromised daily and we need to help now.Enter, a girl, her marine biologist dad, their quest to find a magic shell, his disappearance at sea. Add sea characters who speak in today's jargon, an undiscovered island, a flashback to 17th century piracy, and you have an adventure that will take you from the shoes of New Jersey to the Caribbean with present day happenings wrapped in mystical, magic, fantasy from beginning to end. Voila' you will pitch in to help clean up the beaches.
