The Media Relations Department is here to facilitate your access to the scheduled author program and schedules and special events planned from November 8 to 15, 2009.

We can facilitate interviews in advance and during the Book Fair as well as provide general background information regarding the Fair. High resolution author images and photographs taken at years past Book Fairs will be available for download in this area.

Due to space constraints, only a limited number of media credentials are available.

Complete applications for media credentials for the 2009 Miami Book Fair International are due Wednesday, October 31, 2009.

Each member of a press crew, including camera operators, must be individually credentialed. Please fill out complete applications for each member of your team.

The Miami Book Fair International will only credential 2 people from each media organization.
Credentials will be awarded based on previous year’s coverage as well as advance publicity for the 2009 Fair.

If we are unable to accredit a media representative for this year’s Festival, we will contact you. If you have questions, please contact us at 305-642.3132.

We will notify credentialed journalists of their status.

Press credentials can be picked up at Miami Dade College, Wolfson Campus at either location:

  • At Chapman, Building 3, 2nd Floor, during the Book Fair Evenings With… Series, Nov. 8-13
  • At the Media Check-In Desk, located at the Yellow Entrance, corner of NE 2nd Avenue & NE 3rd Street both Sat. & Sun., Nov. 14 & 15.

To enter the Fair, please show your credentials to pick up a complimentary ticket at the “will call window” at any of the 4 entrances:

  • Red Entrance is NE 5th Street and NE 2nd Ave
  • Blue Entrance is NE Fourth Street and NE 2nd Ave
  • Yellow Entrance is NE Second Ave and NE 3rd Street
  • Purple Entrance is NE First Ave and NE 3rd Street

Please note: a separate entry ticket is needed for each day of the Street Fair, Sat., Nov. 14 & Sun., Nov. 15.

Protocols for Press Access to the Miami Book Fair International…

A media credential and an entry ticket to the Fair is required. (Please note: An entry ticket must be picked up for each day, Sat., Nov. 14 & Sun., Nov. 15 at:  Yellow Entrance, corner of NE 2nd Avenue & NE 3rd Street)

With a Media badge, journalists may sit in seats reserved for Media at Building 1 Auditorium, Building 2 Batten and at Building 3 Chapman.
