The 28th edition of the nation’s finest and largest literary gathering, Miami Book Fair International, presented by the Center at Miami Dade College (MDC), will take place November 13 - 20, 2011, at the college’s Wolfson Campus in downtown Miami.

The LAND O LAKES® Half & Half Perfect Cup Café is again pulling into the Miami Book Fair International, Nov. 19 – 21, and inviting consumers to enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee to benefit the Florida Center for the Literary Arts (FCLA) at Miami Dade College (MDC), which presents the Book Fair and hosts many more literary activities throughout the year.

Each year, on the opening day of the Street Fair, Wolfson campus becomes a sea of students, from elementary to high school. This year, they will arrive on Friday, November 19, from Miami-Dade and Broward county schools to participate in Student Literary Encounters (SLE), to listen to and meet their favorite authors and illustrators, and to be introduced to new works of fiction or nonfiction that they may otherwise not have been exposed to. After each session, students have the opportunity to meet the author and get an autograph.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida, Bank of America, American Airlines, Land O’Lakes, The Miami Herald, El Nuevo Herald, CBS4, Univision, Book TV on CSPAN2, and Comcast, among those returning.

One of the highlights of this year’s Miami Book Fair International is the Comix Galaxy presented in partnership with Diamond Book Distributors. The unique partnership will introduce comprehensive programs on graphic novels and the comics world that will celebrate its legacy and recent rise in popularity and integration into the mainstream via bookstores, libraries and educational curricula all over the country.

The official poster and program of authors and activities for the 26th edition of the nation’s finest and largest literary gathering, Miami Book Fair International (Fair), presented by the Florida Center for the Literary Arts at Miami Dade College (MDC), was unveiled at a reception Sept. 16, 2009, at ECCO Pizzateca and Lounge in downtown Miami.

Fairgoers will notice some changes to the program and offerings as a result of space limitations due to construction on the Fair site as the literary treasure builds for the future as well as budgetary restrictions due to the economy.
