The Florida Center for the Literary Arts (FCLA) promotes culture, reading, and writing by presenting high-quality literary activities open to all in South Florida throughout the year, including the Writers’ Institute, Prometeo Theatre and Miami Book Fair International (MBFI).  The Book Fair, the largest and finest event of its kind in the nation, is the FCLA’s most prominent initiative.  

The 2010 Book Fair will take place from November 14 – 21, 2010, on the Wolfson Campus of Miami Dade College in Downtown Miami.  

  • More than 300 authors will present their latest work: past presenters have included Nobel and Pulitzer Prize winners, biographers, journalists, novelists and poets. Some of the programs include:
    • Festival of Authors
    • Six-night Evening With… Series 
    • Iberoamerican Program 
    • Children’s Alley 
    • Three-day Street Fair 
    • Comix Galaxy 
    • Student Literary Encounters 
    • Panel Discussions and Workshops
  • More than 200,000 attendees will fill the venues and streets during the eight-day event:
    • 65% are between the ages of 18 and 49 
    • 67% have at least one college degree 
    • 63% are female 
    • 61% have a household income of at least $50,000 
    • 40% are Hispanic 
    • 31% are from outside of Miami-Dade County 
    • 41% are inclined to patronize a sponsor that supports MBFI 
    • 63% believe that corporate support for the arts can affect their buying decisions
  • More than 200 national and international exhibitors will present more than 1,000,000 books for sale, in every language imaginable
  • Thousands of children will stretch their imaginations in Children’s Alley over the three-day Street Fair
  • MBFI marketing generates more than 41,500,000 gross impressions, 45% of which include sponsor
    recognition 

  • MBFI offers its Corporate and Media Partners a myriad of marketing opportunities including branding, product sampling, display, distribution, advertising, and data collection; as well as hospitality and hosting opportunities.
