The Translation Market:
A World Literature and Translation Summit
Presented by Miami Book Fair International and BookExpo America

The Translation Market is a one day, trade-only educational forum taking place in conjunction with Miami Book Fair International, addressing translation, foreign rights and licensing for international publishers and other publishing professionals from around the world.  This very special event invites editors, translators, publishers, authors, literary agents, foreign scouts, rights managers, librarians and other industry representatives to come together to examine the current issues and future prospects of translation and literary rights.

Located in the most international city in the Western Hemisphere – Miami – the Translation Market will provide unparalleled education and a unique venue for connections to be made and borders to be crossed by spreading literature across nations and languages.

In its launch year, the event will offer professional seminars and panel discussions as well as invaluable networking opportunities among an exclusive collection of professionals in this critical, emerging segment of the industry. A few of the many internationally recognized publishing professionals who will participate in the event include: Morgan Entrekin, Publisher, Grove/Atlantic; Dedi Felman, Senior Editor, Simon & Schuster, Words Without Borders; Carol Fredericks, Sanford Greenburger Agency; Daniel Halpern, Publisher, Ecco/HarperCollins; Lucinda Karter, Agent, French Publishers Agency;  Peter Mayer, Publisher, Overlook Press; Chad Post, Director, Open Letter Books; David Rieff, Author & Policy Analyst; Nan Talese, Publisher, Barbara Epler, New Directions; Johnny Temple, Publisher, Akashic Books; and Steve Wasserman, Agent, Kneerim & Williams.
