About the ticketing process for author sessions:
• Why am I asked for my shipping and billing information?
We only collect your name and address as internal data. Please be assured you will not be charged for these tickets.
• How will I receive my tickets?
Please print out the email you will receive detailing your order. You must bring this with you to each session you have reserved tickets for.
• What if there are no tickets available for the session I want to attend?
Check back soon! While all sessions may in fact be "sold out," if the Book Fair receives notice that a previously reserved ticket will not be used for admission to the event, the ticket(s) will be returned to inventory and released for sale to the public. If you are still unable to obtain tickets, you may come to the event and wait in the "stand-by" line.
• What is the "Stand-By" line?
Miami Book Fair attendees who do not have tickets (or have not been able to get their tickets online) may wait in the designated "Stand-By" line outside of the session. Those attendees will be admitted to the room on a first-come, first-served basis if seats are unclaimed by ticketed guests 10 minutes prior to the start of that session. Please note that your place in the Stand-by line does not guarantee entrance into a session.
• What will I need tickets for?
You will need tickets for all Evenings With… author sessions and all sessions in Chapman Conference Center on Saturday, November 15 and Sunday, November 16.
• What ticketing policies must I adhere to?
Ticketed attendees must be in their seats 10 (ten) minutes before the session begins, or risk losing their places to "stand-bys." Thus, seats cannot be "saved" less than 10 minutes before the session is to begin.
• How many tickets can I get?
There is a limit of 2 (two) tickets per person, per session.
• Am I guaranteed a seat if I have a ticket?
Not necessarily. Ticketed guests must be seated 10 minutes before the scheduled start time of their session. Ticketed attendees who do not arrive within the 10 minute time limit, risk losing their seats to those in the "Stand-By" line. Consequently, seats cannot be "saved."
