Target recognizes the integral role reading plays in shaping a child’s future because reading is the foundation for lifelong learning and success. Thanks to that, Target is proud to be a part of Miami Book Fair International.
With Target as the presenting sponsor, the ever-popular Children’s Alley is back, with educational activities sure to excite your child’s imagination!
New this year is the Green Planet Tent where children will explore how to save the planet and have fun at the same time. Build a birdhouse, plant a seed and visit the ocean’s dazzling fish!
Also, visit Dr. Seuss’ Tent, presented by Miami Children’s Museum, for interactive play and storytelling centered around the Lorax and Yertle the Turtle. Make your own wearable Lorax moustache, find the turtles hidden in the sand, or dress up as Yertle the Turtle!
Enter Elmo’s world of interactive storytelling, or watch Mr. Noodles the mime in the Let’s Play and Learn with Elmo Tent presented by Miami Children’s Museum. Learn how Egyptians celebrated friendship and read aloud with Winnie The Pooh in the Best Friends Forever Tent. Visit old friends Dora the Explorer and Diego and learn how to have fun being healthy with What’s Up, Doc?
And don’t forget to celebrate the Fair’s 25th Anniversary with Lori, Lori by the Fountain on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
Finally, meet The Stinky Cheese Man creator Jon Scieszka and Laurent de Brunhoff, who inherited the classic Babar the elephant series from his father. Enjoy Bits ’N Pieces Puppet Theatre’s production of Puss in Boots, among many other performances offered on the Target Children’s Stage.
