WALTER MOSLEY on Little Green: An Easy Rawlins Mystery, in conversation with author and NPR’s “voice of books,” ALAN CHEUSE

Saturday, Nov. 23, 2:00 p.m., Auditorium (Building 1, 2nd Floor, Room 1261)

Author(s) and Guest(s)

Walter Mosley

The last time readers saw investigator Easy Rawlins he was drunk and driving off a cliff.  Walter Mosley not only resurrects Rawlins in Little Green (Doubleday; $25.95), he sets him in the mean streets of L.A., in all their psychedelic, 1967 glory. Rawlins is looking for Evander "Little Green" Noon, who disappeared during an acid trip.  Easy experiences a physical, spiritual, and emotional resurrection, but peace and love soon give way to murder and mayhem. In addition to the acclaimed Easy Rawlins series, Mosley is the author of the Fearless Jones series; the novels Blue Light and RL's Dream; and two collections of stories featuring Socrates Fortlow.

Alan Cheuse

Well known as National Public Radio’s longtime “voice of books,” Alan Cheuse's latest story collection is An Authentic Captain Marvel Ring. Cheuse is the author of five novels, four other collections of short fiction, the memoir Fall Out of Heaven, and the collection of travel essays, A Trance After Breakfast.
