Avi Wortis

Lives hang in the balance in Avi Wortis’s historical novel for young set during the Revolutionary War, Sophia’s War: A Tale of the Revolution (Beach Lane Books, $16.99).  A female spy imbedded in the household of the commander of British forces in America learns of a secret that could affect the outcome of the war—and have her executed.  Avi is the author of more than fifty books for children and young adults, including the 2003 Newbery medal winner Crispin: The Cross of Lead.
