Author(s) and Guest(s)

Andrew Smith

In Andrew Smith's novel, The Marbury Lens (Macmillan, $17.99), sixteen-year-old Jack is kidnapped, but he narrowly escapes. The only person he tells is his best friend, Conner. When he and Connor arrive in London for summer break, a stranger hands Jack a pair of glasses. Through the lenses, he sees a desolate and murderous world called Marbury. In Stick (Macmillan, $17.99), two brothers come of age and find love, despite their abusive upbringing. Smith is also the author of Ghost Medicine, which was a 2008 Best Books for Young Adults nominee.
