Ben Greenman

Ben Greenman, a graduate of Miami Palmetto High School and Yale University, is the author of the 1960s-era music novel Please Step Back (Melville House). An editor or at The New Yorker, he’s written three collections of short fiction, Superbad, Superworse, and Circle is a Compass and a Balloon Both: Stories About Human Love. Publishers Weekly says Please Step Back is “a haunting vision of a man, the music and a culture, driven by the author's undeniable passion for his subject.” He lives in Brooklyn with his wife and two children.

Jonathan Lethem

Jonathan Lethem has been entertaining readers since 1994's Gun, with Occasional Music, a debut novel that contained the ingredients of his future career as a writer: science fiction, pulp noir, westerns, and coming-of-age themes. His novels include Motherless Brooklyn, Fortress of Solitude, and most recently Chronic City (Doubleday). “Jonathan Lethem's work has gone from postapocalyptic sci-fi to autobiographical magical realism.”—Publishers Weekly.

Michael Thomas

Michael Thomas’ first novel, Man Gone Down (Grove),  won the International DublinIMPAC Literary Award, which carries a $138,000 prize. “Thomas is a talented observer of how people interact.” – Kirkus Reviews. He teaches at Hunter College and lives in Brooklyn with his wife and three children.
