David Hajdu

David Hajdu is the music critic for The New Republic and a professor at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. His many books include Lush Life: A Biography of Billy Strayhorn; Positively 4th Street: The Lives and Times of Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, Mimi Baez Fariña and Richard Fariña and three books of narrative nonfiction. Most recently, Heroes and Villains: Essays on Music, Movies, Comics, and Culture (Da Capo), is “a gift for readers who enjoy erudition seasoned with elan.”--Publishers Weekly.

Karen Oberlin

Karen Oberlin, a jazz-pop singer and recording artist, is a Back Stage Bistro Award winner and Nightlife Award finalist for Outstanding Vocalist of the Year. She has appeared in more than 100 Off-Broadway performances of the smash-hit show Our Sinatra, and has performed her own shows nationally and abroad. She is married to writer David Hajdu, author of Heroes and Villains: Essays on Music, Movies, Comics, and Culture.
