Author(s) and Guest(s)
Nicole Krauss
Nicole Krauss's authorial credentials are as impressive as they are impeccable: In 2007, she was selected as one of Granta’s Best Young American Novelists, and in 2010, The New Yorker named her one of the 20 best writers under 40. Her fiction has been published in The New Yorker, Harper’s, Esquire, and Best American Short Stories, and her books have been translated into more than thirty-five languages. She is the author of Man Walks into a Room and the international bestseller, The History of Love. At the center of Krauss's latest novel, Great House (W.W. Norton, $25.95), sits a tremendous desk, which reappears over time to various characters: a lonely American novelist clinging to the memory of a poet who has mysteriously vanished in Chile, an old man in Israel facing the imminent death of his wife of 51 years, and an esteemed antiques dealer tracking down the things stolen from his father by the Nazis. "This stunning work showcases Krauss's consistent talent," says Publishers Weekly in its starred review.
